Ministerial Advisory Group

The Marlborough Chamber of Commerce was pleased to host a Retail Crime Stakeholder Engagement Meeting in Blenheim, bringing together local retailers, business leaders, and representatives from across the community for a productive and encouraging discussion.

The session provided an opportunity to share experiences, explore practical solutions, and strengthen the collective response to retail crime in our region. Attendees were highly engaged and contributed valuable insights that will help shape ongoing dialogue and action in this space.

We extend our thanks to the visiting team for their time and leadership, and for offering to return in the coming months to share progress, listen further, and update on wins for retailers as work continues at the national level.

As part of this collaboration, we’re pleased to share a soft copy of the three retail crime reforms accepted by Government, which are now progressing through the legislative process. These reforms represent an important step toward empowering retailers, supporting Police, and building safer communities across New Zealand.

We also thank everyone who attended and contributed to the conversation. Your continued engagement and support are vital in building a safer, stronger retail environment for all.
